What the Armed Forces Covenant Means
The Armed Forces Covenant is a UK Government backed pledge that ensures those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly and respectfully in society, the workplace and the economy.
As a signatory, WKW commits to:
Being an armed forces friendly employer
Supporting the employment of veterans, reservists and service spouses
Recognising the value of transferable military skills
Providing flexibility for reservist training and mobilisation
Participating in community engagement and armed forces events
Working with defence organisations and support networks
Ensuring fair treatment and opportunity throughout recruitment and career progression
This Covenant reflects our organisation’s respect for the armed forces community and aligns closely with our work across defence, aerospace and safety critical engineering.
Our Managing Director served in The Green Howards (later amalgamated into The Duke of Wellington Regiment West Riding). WKW Precision Engineering is proud to honour his service.
Why This Matters to Our Clients
For buyers, particularly in Defence, Nuclear and Aerospace Sectors, the Covenant is a strong indicator of integrity, maturity and social responsibility within a potential supplier.
✔ Strengthens your supply chain reputation

✔ Demonstrates a strong, capable and experienced workforce
We actively invite applications from veterans and reservists, many of whom bring experience in:
High integrity engineering
Technical maintenance

Quality assurance
Safety critical environments
This strengthens our capability for mission critical manufacturing.
✔ Reinforces ethical business practice
Procurement teams increasingly assess the social value and community impact of their suppliers.
The Covenant demonstrates that WKW Precision Engineering is committed to ethical behaviour and public service values.
✔ Supports international partnership requirements
Global defence and aerospace primes recognise the Covenant as a mark of responsibility and cultural alignment.
✔ Contributes to workforce stability
Veterans and reservists often have strong discipline, reliability and problem solving skills, vital traits for precision engineering.
