History of WKW Precision Engineering

WKW Precision Engineering Co Ltd was established in 1970 by Richard Wyatt manufacturing spare parts for the Machine Tool industry nationwide.

The company began in a small mill doing mainly subcontract work on small components with a work force of just 3 people. It now a family run business with BS EN ISO 9001:2000 accreditation (please click here for a copy), which now employs 32 people and also has a climate controlled fully calibrated CMM inspection department.

We specialise in supplying complete gears, sprockets etc both from drawings or samples also thread milling and can manufacture screws up to 4000 mm long with the nuts to suit. The customer base includes major clients in the petrochemical, food packaging machinery, printing machinery and confectionery industries.

The company also has a tool and cutting grinding division with a 24 hour turn round facility, please see the following documentation for a basic price list , prices for specials available on request.

We have a wide range of machines including 7 CNC turning machines including bar feeding capabilities for large batch production at competitive prices, 4 CNC Bridgeport milling machines with a maximum stroke of 1020mm in the x axis including 3D and a fourth axis capability, and and an Asquith VNCT-EB Vertical CNC Machining Centre (X=2250mm x Y=2250mm x Z=1100mm).

We machine splines both internal and external to British standards, with a choice of surface grinding, centreless grinding and external as well as internal cylindrical grinding. Services also available include gear grinding, both spur and helical, spiral bevels , worms and worm wheels, spark eroding, the machining of new and re-worked cams and the broaching of squares, splines and hexagons. Also specializing in the reconditioning of gearboxes.
